The Waterous Trail - DEC's latest long distance off-road cycling trail - is a 61-kilometre loop trail that connects the Waroona Dam with the Munda Biddi Trail. The trail isn't prone to flooding, as the name suggests, but was proposed by the Shire of Waroona as Waterous was one of the original settlements in the area.
The Munda Biddi Trail is intended to be a backbone for the development of loop trails that connect towns and attractions along its route. The Waterous Trail is the first of these overnight loops.
The trail was built with the support of the Water Corporation and ALCOA Australia. Work crews from the Bunbury Regional Prison and Karnet Prison Farm undertook the construction work.
The Waterous Trail connects Lake Navarino (Waroona Dam) with Nanga in the Lane Poole Reserve and the Munda Biddi Trail. Most of the Trail is relatively easy with some undulating sections around Sampson Brook and Zig Zag Road.
