The Jarrahdale Railway Heritage trail is a seven kilometre walk trail which follows the old railway line built in 1872 to cart the timber from the mills of Jarrahdale to the port of Rockingham from where it was shipped overseas or up to Perth.

The task of building and operating this line was daunting and a sense of history is evoked as the walk winds over the original track down the scarp.

Starting in Jarrahdale at Nettleton Road is a leisurely two hour walk through Jarrah and Wandoo woodlands and undulating farmland.

Wildflowers abound in season and the views are magnificent. Walkers are reminded to organise transport at the Pruden Road end (on the south west highway near the Alcoa Line Bridge) to return to their cars. The walk can be extended a further kilometre down the highway to the Whitby Falls Coach House.
