The trail is on mostly level ground along the river flats and includes features such as the old railway Ballast reserve, the historic Federal stone river crossing, wetlands fauna and flora as well as jarrah and wandoo forest. The 3km walk trail starts and ends at the Tullis Bridge, an old wooden trestle railway bridge, built in 1912. The bridge, which crosses the Hotham River, was a vital link for the early pioneers and timber industry. Efforts to have the bridge restored are continuing. A timber mill and settlement named Tullis was located nearby until around 1950 when it was closed and all buildings relocated. Brochures are available at the Boddington Tourist Information Centre and a map is signposted at the bridge site at the end of Morts Road.
